Lost Stories

‘Lost stories’ is a collection based on the British colonisation of India. Particularly taking inspiration from partition of India in 1947, seen in the division of silhouettes of the garments. Restriction is shown by using a lot of elastic throughout the collection. Both the world wars were also referenced, millions of Indians died fighting in them, for a cause that was never theirs to fight. A lot of letters were referenced that were written by these soldiers to their families back home and postage stamps were used to send them. Acrylic stamps were created and added as accessories, also a print was created out of these stamps to add some lightness to the other wise, dark colour scheme. Military uniforms from the time was also a big inspiration behind the silhouettes of these garments.
